What parents ask about the app
What age is the app for?
It is built for school-age children, with the experience adjusting to the child rather than one version for everyone.
Can my child use it without me setting it up?
No. A parent or guardian creates the account and completes consent first, then invites the child. Children cannot register on their own.
Will I be able to read my child's journal?
No, and that is deliberate. You see engagement and growth, not private entries. A child who knows everything is read stops being honest, which defeats the purpose.
What does Lumiri actually do?
It is an AI companion with boundaries set for children, not a general chatbot. What it will and will not do is set out in full in the AI Use Policy.
Who can my child talk to?
Only people in Joy Circles that you have approved. There is no open messaging and no way for a stranger to reach your child.
