How it runs
What happens, in order
Five steps across a cycle. Most of the work sits with us.

Register the school
One form from a coordinator. We set up your school on our side and give you a single point of contact.

Enrol students
Students are entered as a group rather than one parent at a time. You decide which grades take part.
- 03
Prepare
Preparation material goes to your coordinator for classroom or home use. Nothing about it requires specialist staff.
- 04
Run the Challenge
Held on campus to a schedule agreed with you, with invigilation guidance provided.
- 05
Results and recognition
Results come back to the school alongside the students, with recognition materials for those who take part.
What we need from you
What your school is actually taking on
Stated plainly rather than minimised, so nobody agrees to something on a wrong impression.
- A staff coordinator to act as the point of contact, which is typically a few hours across the cycle.
- A room and a session slot on the agreed date.
- Invigilation by your own staff, to guidance we provide.
- Consent handled through your existing parent communication.

The Challenge is not a subject test. It asks students to think in situations no lesson prepared them for.
Critical Thinking
Decides what information actually matters in an unfamiliar problem, and what can be set aside.

Produces a response nobody prescribed, then improves it rather than defending the first attempt.

Reads a situation involving other people and responds to what is actually going on in it.

Questions
What school leaders ask
Does our school need specialist AI or computing staff?
No. The Challenge does not require teaching AI, and coordinators do not need a technical background. Preparation material is written to be used by any teacher.
How much staff time does this actually take?
A coordinator for the cycle and invigilation on the day. We would rather set that expectation honestly than describe it as effortless.
Can only some grades take part?
Yes. Schools commonly start with one or two grade bands and widen later.
How is student data handled?
Student information is used for running the Challenge and returning results. Our full position is in the Privacy Policy, and the Child Safety Policy covers safeguarding.
What does it cost the school?
Fees and any school-level arrangements are confirmed directly with you. They will be set out in writing before anything is agreed.
Can we run Glimmers Labs as well?
Yes, and many schools do both. Labs run weekly on campus through the year, while the AIQ Challenge is a cycle. Each works independently of the other.
