What Grades 5–6 are asked to do
The capabilities are the same across every band. How they are put to a child is not.
- Deciding whether a source is worth believing
- Arguing a position and revising it under challenge
- Using an AI tool and catching where it misled them

Are children using AI during the challenge?
Where a challenge permits it, yes, and how well they use it forms part of what is assessed. Our approach is set out in the AI Use Policy.
Does my child need coding experience?
No. AIQ is not a coding competition and no programming knowledge is required at any level.
